Patchcords and Connectors

AstraNet Systems Ltd offers the Romack range of fibre optic products.

For Patch cords, connectors, adapters, imagers, fibre bundles and other specialised products, Romack are the leading suppliers in the US.

AstraNet is delighted to be appointed as the official UK dealers for Romack products including their low-cost immersion probes, which have energy transmission levels second to none.

Patch cords are offered in a wide variety of materials.  AstraNet recommends the All Silica high OH fibres for UV spectroscopy and the Low OH for Visible and NIR applications.

Patch cords can be specified in almost any length, and usually come with SMA905 connectors and with an NA of 0.22.  Common core sizes range from 100 microns through to 1000 microns and jacket materials offered include flexible stainless steel, PVC Kevlar and PVC monocoil.  Standard lengths are from 1 metre to 8 metres.  Additionally AstraNet will be pleased to discuss special requirements including arrays, bundles etc.

The Romack range of immersion probes are of outstanding quality.  Robustly built, with interchangeable tips providing pathlengths from 2 to 40mm, these stylish immersion probes have twin sma adapters and are thus compatible with all makes of fibre optic spectrometers.  Priced at well under £1,000 they are excellent value for money.

The standard barrel diameter is 6mm.  A 3mm version is also offered for more specialised applications.
